Comparison and contrast Essay

Edgar Allan Poe and William Faulkner are very similar in some ways. These two writers served the military and were addicted to alcohol. William Faulkner wrote for the newspaper just as Edgar Allan Poe. Both of them were given awards for their writing. They also write about their personal experiences. William's child dies after he was born on the other hand all the women Allan Poe's life passed away.

The Fall of the House of Usher was written by Edgar Allan Poe and A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner. The two stories have a lot of similarities and differences. Even though hey were written by different authors, you can compare them. One story reflects friendship whereas the other reflects discrimination. Poe's story can be really creepy unlike Faulkner's story is more realistic.

Both characters, Emily and Roderick, were mentally ill. They were physical and mentally deteriorating. In the story, Roderick died just as Emily. No one dare to go in the house of Emily similar to the house of Roderick that was really creepy.

Emily was a rich person likewise Roderick and both lose everything. The new mayor wants Emily out of the house cause she didn't pay taxes in comparison with Roderick his friend wants him out cause the house was falling apart. Emily kills her partner in comparison with Roderick that kills his sister. The Fall of the House of Usher is an understandable story unlike A Rose for Emily was a little bit confusing.
